Bruker launches plethora of new products online

April 1, 2020 -- Bruker is showcasing a number of its new analytical systems and other products for biopharma and forensics applications. The products include a new gas analyzer as well as a benchtop x-ray elemental analyzer.

The company had planned to launch these offerings at Analytica 2020, but the novel coronavirus has forced conference organizers from around the world to postpone or cancel the events. Therefore, Bruker is launching its products online.

Among the new products is Bruker's Omega 5 Fourier transform infrared gas analyzer, which is rack-mounted and equipped with a multireflection gas cell with a 5-m optical path length. It is designed to automate real-time monitoring of gas concentrations, even in mixtures, and to investigate catalytic processes or determine gas impurities.

The company's benchtop Fourier transform nuclear medicine resonance (FT-NMR) Fourier CrimeLab is designed for forensic laboratories and features interconnected high-field NMR spectrometers. The Fourier CrimeLab's 80-MHz FT-NMR devices at local labs will enable law enforcement to identify suspicious known or new psychoactive substances.

The S2 Puma benchtop x-ray elemental analyzer is an energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence spectrometer equipped with HighSense technology designed to significantly increase throughput. Bruker's Spectra.Elements software comes with enhanced features and algorithms for approximately 40% less evaluation time. The S2 Puma Series 2 supports elemental analysis applications from cement, steel, mining, and petrochemical to food analysis and pharma quality control.

In addition, Bruker is expanding its surface plasmon resonance (SPR) product line with the Sierra SPR-24 Pro. The new SPR-24 Pro targets biopharma applications, such as antibody characterization, protein-protein, and protein-small molecule interactions, and fragment screening. It features an 8-channel, 3-sensor-spot design with automated operation by robotic plate handling for additional SPR throughput.
